Welcome to Dirk's Car Wash ("Dirk's," "we," "our," or "us"). By visiting our website at dirkscarwash.com, using our kiosks, purchasing any product or service, or enrolling in a Wash Pass membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
These Terms apply to all visitors, customers, and others who access or use our website or any of our six Pittsburgh-area car wash locations.
Use of Our Services
Our website and car wash services are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree to use them only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict or inhibit their use and enjoyment of our services.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase a Wash Pass or enter into any agreement with us. By using our services, you represent that you meet this requirement.
Account Information
If you create an account through our customer portal at customerportal.nxtwash.com/dirkscarwash, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to keep your credentials secure.
Wash Pass & Membership
Enrollment
Wash Pass memberships may be purchased at any of our pay station kiosks or through our customer portal. Upon enrollment, you authorize us to charge the applicable monthly fee to your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
Pass Tiers
We currently offer four membership tiers:
- Platinum — $40/month (single wash: $30)
- Gold — $35/month (single wash: $25)
- Silver — $30/month (single wash: $20)
- Bronze — $25/month (single wash: $12)
Pricing is subject to change with reasonable notice. Tax is added where applicable.
Vehicle Identification & Use
Each Wash Pass is registered to a single vehicle identified by its license plate number. License plate recognition cameras at our pay stations verify your vehicle on each visit. You may not share, transfer, or use your pass on any vehicle other than the one registered to your account. Commercial vehicles — including but not limited to vehicles used for rideshare (Uber, Lyft), delivery (DoorDash, Amazon), or taxi services — are not eligible for personal Wash Pass memberships. Please contact us for fleet pricing.
Wash Frequency
Unlimited means one wash per day per registered vehicle. Additional washes on the same day for the same vehicle are not permitted under the membership rate.
Multiple Vehicles
You may enroll up to five personal-use vehicles under separate Wash Pass memberships, each billed at the full plan rate and linked to its own license plate. To add a vehicle, text us at (412) 676-7776 with your full name, phone number associated with your pass, the license plate to add, and the desired wash plan.
Billing & Renewal
Your membership renews automatically each month on your billing date. We will charge the payment method on file. It is your responsibility to keep your payment information current. Failure to process payment may result in suspension of your membership.
Cancellation
You may cancel your Wash Pass at any time by texting (412) 676-7776 with the message "Cancel membership" along with your full name, phone number associated with your account, and license plate. Allow up to 24 hours for processing. Please note that calling does not accelerate the cancellation process. Your membership will remain active through the end of the current billing period. No refunds or credits are provided for partial months.
Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue any wash service, tier, or feature at any time with reasonable advance notice. Price changes will be communicated to active members at least 30 days prior to taking effect.
Loyalty Program
Customers who sign up for our kiosk loyalty program earn a free wash after every five paid single-wash purchases. Loyalty rewards are non-transferable, have no cash value, and may not be combined with other offers unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the loyalty program at any time.
Prepaid Options
Platinum Prepaid (Buy 5 Months, Get 1 Free)
For $200, you receive six months of unlimited Platinum washes (equivalent to five months paid, one month free). Prepaid credits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Credits are applied to one vehicle and expire after the six-month period if unused.
Wash Book (5 Gold Washes for the Price of 4)
For $80, you receive five Gold-level single-wash credits. Wash Book credits have no expiry date, are non-refundable, and may not be applied across multiple vehicles in the same visit. Credits have no cash value and are non-transferable.
User Conduct
When using our website or services, you agree not to:
- Use our services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations
- Attempt to circumvent our license plate recognition or access control systems
- Use another customer's membership without authorization
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of our website or equipment
- Upload or transmit viruses or any other malicious code to our systems
- Collect or harvest any personally identifiable information from our website
- Use our website for any commercial solicitation without our prior written consent
Violation of these conduct rules may result in immediate termination of your membership without refund and may subject you to civil or criminal liability.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software — is the property of Dirk's Car Wash or its content licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any content without our express written permission.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Dirk's Car Wash, its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our website or services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
We make no warranty that our website will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Our car wash equipment and services are provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Date last modified" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify active members by SMS or email. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Dirk's Car Wash collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit our website, use our kiosks, or interact with us via phone or text message. By using our services, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
What We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
- Contact information: name, mobile phone number, and email address when you enroll in a Wash Pass or sign up for SMS communications.
- Vehicle information: license plate number(s) associated with your account.
- Payment information: credit or debit card details when you make a purchase. Payment data is processed by our third-party payment processor and we do not store full card numbers on our systems.
- Communications: messages and inquiries you send us via text or phone.
Information Collected Automatically
- Website usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URLs, and time spent on pages — collected via standard web server logs.
- License plate images: our kiosks capture images of license plates for membership verification and fraud prevention. These images may be retained for a limited period consistent with our data retention policy.
- Cookies and similar technologies: we use essential cookies to maintain site functionality. We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process and manage your Wash Pass membership and payments
- Verify vehicle eligibility at our pay stations
- Send account-related communications (billing confirmations, membership updates)
- Send promotional SMS messages if you have opted in to our text marketing program
- Respond to your customer service inquiries
- Improve our website, services, and customer experience
- Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud
- Enforce our Terms of Service
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: we share information with vendors who assist us in operating our business, including our payment processor, our car wash management platform (NXTWash), and our SMS marketing provider. These vendors are contractually obligated to use your data only to provide services on our behalf.
- Legal compliance: we may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
- Business transfers: if Dirk's Car Wash is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. When you cancel your membership, we will retain your data for a reasonable period to handle any billing disputes, comply with legal obligations, and prevent fraud. License plate images captured at kiosks are typically retained for 90 days.

SMS Opt-Out
You may opt out of marketing text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. See our SMS Policy below for full details.
Access & Correction
You may request access to or correction of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at (412) 676-7776. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Deletion
You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal obligations and legitimate business interests (such as retaining records required for tax or fraud purposes). To request deletion, contact us via text at (412) 676-7776.
Cookies
You may disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of our website.
Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.
SMS Text Messaging Policy
This SMS Policy governs your enrollment in Dirk's Car Wash text message communications. By opting in to our SMS program, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from Dirk's Car Wash at the mobile phone number you provide. Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
Program Description
Dirk's Car Wash sends text messages to provide:
- Promotional offers and coupons (including free wash codes)
- Membership and account alerts (billing reminders, renewal notices)
- Seasonal promotions and special event announcements
- Customer service responses initiated by your inquiry
Messages are sent by Dirk's Car Wash, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our short description for opt-in records is: Dirk's Car Wash SMS Alerts.
How to Opt In
You can opt in to receive text messages from us by:
- Submitting your mobile phone number on our Free Wash signup page and checking the consent box
- Enrolling in a Wash Pass at one of our kiosks and providing your phone number for membership communications
- Texting a designated keyword to our SMS shortcode (if advertised at our locations or on our website)
By opting in, you confirm that you are the account holder or have permission to use the mobile number provided, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
How to Opt Out
You may opt out of marketing text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After texting STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further marketing messages will be sent to your number.
Note: opting out of marketing messages does not cancel your Wash Pass membership. To cancel your membership, see the cancellation instructions in the Terms of Service above. You may still receive transactional or account messages related to an active membership even after opting out of marketing messages.

Message Rates & Frequency
Message and data rates may apply to all messages sent to and from Dirk's Car Wash, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. We are not responsible for any messaging or data charges incurred from your mobile carrier.
Message frequency is recurring and may vary month to month based on promotions, seasonal offers, and account activity. As a guideline, marketing messages are typically sent no more than 4–6 times per month.
Supported carriers include, but may not be limited to: AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, Boost Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and MetroPCS. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
